    Default Sound Dampening

Our home has 2X2 interior walls. I have the drywall down on the wall between the bathroom and bedroom. I would like to dampen the sound from the bathroom. Should I use 1 1/2" foam panels and fill the bay tight or should I use 3/4" foam panels and leave ~ 3/8" space between the panels and both drywall panels?

If it was me, I'd use the inch and a half stuff. With the thinner insulation and the dead air space, you won't be buying any added value.

    Good Luck.
