Default Killing weeds in freshly planted grass

About 3-4 weeks ago I planted grass seed in an area of my yard that was previously bare where I now added fresh dirt and soil. The area is about 200 sq ft. There is now a decent amount of new grass growing, but there is also massive weed growth in the area.

How can I get rid of the weeds as I'm afraid they will outcompete the grass? I'm afraid of using a chemical weed killer as it might kill off all the new grass seedlings.

    Any ideas?

You can get something like round up or weed be gone from the local greenhouse. However some of those products cannot be used for a few weeks after planting new seed. Usually they recommend 2 mowings before you spray weed kill

Otherwise it's just old fashioned work. Get a hand trowel and some gloves and dig up the bigger ones careful not to disturb too much of the new grass.

Others may have better suggestions, but this is what worked for me.
