    Default Back door stoop cracked

My back door stoop has 2 big cracks in it. I can tell from knocking on the cement that it is hollow inside. I'm thinking of putting deck over the concrete as shown in the video "How to Deck Over a Concrete Stoop" on this site.
How do I address the crack to prevent water seeping thru ?
Would it be worth breaking thru the crack and filling the void with cement ?

    Thanks for your time.

No. Simply caulk it with a good quality caulk. Roofing supply companies sell a huge variety of caulks designed to stick to any materials and with large expansion contraction ratios. Breaking through the concrete and filling it is far more work then you realize or need to do.
