    Default Boards Rotting

    Porch Repair

Boy do I need help! This deck/porch was built 9 years ago and now it is rotting. The flooring is tongue and groove mahogany. Primed on all sides and the top painted with deck paint. When it was installed caulking was applied to all the joints. The floor slopes away from the house. The rot is at the ends. First, how do I repair this and second, how do I stop the rot?
Replacing the entire deck is coast prohibitive, about $20k. Replacing individual boards has to be done I guess but that does not address the root problem. Any suggestions? I was thinking about removing all the ends using cellular PVC perpendicular to the floor boards as a fix. It will still be a big job. Or remove the end board altogether and leave it off.
