We have a 1973 ranch house that we use as a rental for tourists. The previous owner had iron railing sections drilled into concrete on the steps coming from the concrete porch. They have forever been wobbly; angle and drilling into concrete is our downfall. The house is built into a hill so we can't avoid the angle. I'd like to go to a wood railing to match our natural setting. Is there a way to have a stable wood railing drilled into concrete? Or, should we just set very tall posts adjacent to the steps. My husband is sick of me nagging about this but I fear a guest losing their footing. Advice is appreciated!
