Cold Kitchen Floor
Hello I live in Louisiana near the coast, and as you know we deal with humidity that is off the charts, I live in an older home that sits on 18" piers as has exposed floor joices as many of the homes here do, a living room addition was added to the home prior to my buying it, we are in the process of remodeling and have carpeted and padded the bedrooms and living room, and that serves as insulation for those floors, so in the winter the kitchen floor gets cold and the kitchen stays about 12 degrees cooler than the other rooms, i've seen installation of radiant heat strips but i would rather some sort of insulation that would survive the humidity and be more cost efficient, and not cause the floor to trap moisture. can anyone help me out here? what would you suggest?
