we live in a fifty year old house that is plaster in all rooms and all ceilings. yhe living room ceiling has a crack in the plaster almost the entire length. i have tried to patch it several times but it keeps cracking back in the same place.
any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Re: cracked ceiling
You ask a terrific question! The most likely answer is that you have some structural problems with your ceilings--the best way to fix cracks permanently is to use a plaster adhesive.
This old house did a great episode about plaster repair that should answer all your questions (also check out the TOH article)
The manufacturer of the plaster adhesive that was featured also has some interesting information.
