    Default Whole House Fan

Sunday 11/16/08 : Today's episode showed an attic fan with R38 insulated doors and a remote control. How can I find who makes this unit and where I might find it?

Keep in mind that whole house fans generate a huge negative pressure in the home, which can backdraft hot water tanks, furnaces, or even gas dryers dumping CO into the home. They can ever snuff out pilot lights if conditions are right. If your pilot dropout failed (if you have piloted combustion appliances and natural gas), it would then dump gas into the home. I always recommend against these units for these reasons.
