Default Help me identify my Old House.

    Hello everyone!

I'm currently in the process of buying an old house. Depending on who you ask, it was either built in 1918 or 1925. (the seller says 1918, the tax assessor says 1925.)

The house is about 2500 square feet. One and a half floors.

However, I'm not having much luck with identifying the style of architecture.

We'd love to do some restoration that is true to the homes architectural style. However, that may be difficult if we can't identify the architecture!

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

It has a little bit of Colonial with the symmetrical windows, and some Arts & Crafts with the overall linear feel and the fact that the 1920s was when Arts and Crafts was big. Here's a link to general housing styles -- could give you some good clues.

The form is either Cape Cod or "1 1/2 story Georgian farmhouse", but in a 1920's interpretation, with paired windows and a crafsman-ish porch.

Remove not the ancient landmark, which your fathers have set.
