Hello Mesasge Board:

I watched the Tom Silve video on the web site and I watched him on the TOH show, repair a squeaky floor.
I bought the "Squeek no More" product and set to work. After sinking about 20 screws my floors still squeak. My biggest problem seems to be finding the joists. I measure out 16 inches from the wall, drive the locater drill bit through the carpet, find the joist and then sink the screw. I measure out 16 inches from that screw and find dead air. Even if I do find the joist, the floors still squeak. They make it seem so easy on TV.
Short of pulling up all the carpet and rescewing the plywood, what can I do?
