Question How do you restore Iridescent Tile to its original shine

    Help!

I purchased and had someone install Iridescent tile in my bathroom. The installer did not do a very good job at cleaning the haze from the tile. Now the tile is not very reflective - its rather dull. Anyone have any ideas on how to restore to its out of the box shine?

    Thanks

You really need to get your installer back to take care of your problem and he'll be less likely to make the same mistake again. He should offer to remove and replace the tile (totally at his own expense, of course). It's very unlikely that you would be able to bring back an iridescent finish on glass, porcelain or ceramic tile.

Many times they will use muriatic acid or an alternative to eat away leftover grout on the tile. If it's done sloppily or left on the tile it will eat through the glazing and make the tile look dull. Do you know if he used an acid cleaner like this? This method should only be used after other methods of cleaning the letover grout have failed, since it's potentially damaging.
