    Question heater won't stay on

I have my thermostat on auto. With it getting cooler my heater will only come on for a minute then go off and will not come on again. I have it set on 70 and it is showing 67 in the house with the thermostat saying heat on. What should I check? Or should I wait to see if it will start kicking in on its own?

No .... if it doesn't come on now there's a problem and it ain't going to fix itself.

Unfortunately you haven't given enough information as to type of "heater" , brand and model of equipment to even begin to offer any suggestions.
To be honest , you should get on the phone and get a technician out to service your "heater" since winter is just around the corner.

It would probably be a lot quicker to call someone out than trying to sort out things here.
