First of many questions, proud new owner of an 1882 fixerupper.
I plan on insulating the walls with Icynene Foam and also need to scab the original 2x4 exterior walls to make up for the removed plaster, lath & 1" horizontal planks. Wondering if adding an interior layer of foil covered foam board (one inch) over the four inch layer of Icynene between the studs would be an extra added benefit or a vapor nightmare? Understanding that Icynene is open cell and breaths I would think the rigid board would serve as a good vapor barrier from the interior. What do you think?
Thanks in advance for your wisdom.
