    Default thermostat not turning on

I have a gas heater. It's getting chilly here at nights and for some eason my thermostat won't turn on. I've tried moving the temperature indicators up and down, also the on switch and nothing. I have a gas hot water heater and that's okay, so it isn't the gas line. Thermostat isn't that old. Any suggestions?

Check for the presence of control voltage . Probably 24 volts AC .

Did the gas get turned off at the furnace? Does your furnace have a pilot light? What about an on/off switch for the blower? Does it require fuses or dedicated breaker?
