Default Odor from blown in insulation

We have an odor emitting from a small section of the white blown in insulation in the attic which has now moved down into the bedroom closet. We have checked for dead animals but nothing. Moved the insulation around where the odor emitted from and found nothing - no moisture, no animals. Any ideas what is causing the odor and whether it will affect the rest of the insulation in the attic?

White blown in insulation?? Fiberglass? Rock Wool? Neither should have an odor, or very mild odor at worst. Does this odor smell like a dead animal. although you can't find one? Is it a chemical or musty smell?
