Hi, I live in a over sized cape and have been having a problem with water in my basement after a few days of rain some heavy at times. I have an asphalt driveway and walkways, the down spouts have been placed in the asphalted ground. I have noticed that the water is comming in mostly on one side of the house, the side where the chimmey clean-out and basement door are located two of the downspouts are located on that side also, one is in a heavy metal pipe the other is just in a hole in the asphalt this particular spout is right on the corner where I have seen the most water collecting and closes to the bulkhead and chimmey. The first time this happened I had chimmey caps installed, not the problem. Recently I noticed the water collecting on this side along the bottom edges of the walls, I have also noticed that there are two hair line cracks in the middle of the concret floor where water is seeping through. what can I do about this problem?
