    Post Leaky outdoor faucet

I have slow leak in my outdoor faucet. Can anybody offer advice on repairing or replacing the faucet? The house is <50 years old and I suspect the faucet is also.

If it's leaking around the stem, tighten the nut slightly until it stops leaking. If it's leaking out the end, then it's not worth messing with, just replace it with a new unit. To replace it, turn off the water at the house water main, open the bib to relieve the pressure, apply a wrench and twist counter clockwise. When installing the new unit apply several wraps of teflon tape and/or Rectorseal thread sealant.
