    Maroon would be perfect.

Do not paint metal roofs! They either have a baked-on finish or are anodized aluminum that is good for the life of the roof - any paint you can apply will not hold up any length of time.

The finish doesn't necessarily last the life of the roof.

A darker version of the sandstone biege is what I would say. It really depends on your own tastes. My reason is, nuetral is safe and timeless rather than trendy. If you're painting your roof, you probably only want to do it once.
Be sure it's clean and use an acylic red oxide primer (for steel ). If there is any rust present, look for a product called "Ospho" and follow the directions. This is a rust prohibitive primer for steel. An acrylic primer is okay for aluminum )For the finish use a semi-gloss acrylic latex. It has more flexabilty than oil paint.
