Question Need help fixing porch roof leak

JUST PURCHASED A 80 YEAR OLD BRICK HOUSE.THE FRONT PORCH ROOF LEAKS BAD,ALMOST SIDE TO SIDE, STRAIGHT DOWN FROM WHERE ROOF MEETS FRONT OF HOUSE,OVER THE FRONT WINDOWS AND DOOR. NEED TO FIX QUICKLY,MUST MOVE INTO. WAS THINKING OF USING ROLLED OR STEP FLASHING,SIDE TO SIDE. IS THIS POSSIBLE?, AND IF SO, HOW BEST TO SEAL FLASHING? ***THIS IS ONLY GOING TO BE A TEMP REPAIR,HOPEFULLY GETTING ME THROUGH THE WINTER. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS.:

Some pics would be indispensible as regards giving out advice and product choices. A picture is worth a thousand words....or more.

Need more info...and pics is the best way to get that for this type of problem resolving and suggestions over the internet.

It all depends upon the particulars involved. Need some shots of where/how the roofing meets the brick wall and overall pics of the situation. Roof slope matters big time as well.

If you don't have a dig-cam, see if you can borrow one. If you don't know how to post those pics once you have them...we can coach you thru the process...or have someone who is savvy help you do it.

A good way to do this on this forum is to post those pics to a photo-hosting site and then link us to those pics.

Will be glad to offer suggestions once we can see what exactly it is you're dealing with. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to these types of situations.
