I have been a fan of "This Old House" since it came on the air. I also own an old CT farm that has been in the family since 1888. Our family has been "green" before "green" became identified and fashionable. It was simply our way of life: non-toxic farming, with a respect for our environment.

Therefore, I was surprised to read about the Weston House and wonder if the owner is the same person who has been having damaged wetland problems in Barnstable, MA, and is facing violations and fines. I hope not. You always endorse what we have traditionally felt; that we are simply guardians of the land and of the homes we inherit. I am particularly lucky to own the family farm house which has been preserved by poverty.

I look forward to watching more episodes of "This Old House". Perhaps, you can teach me what to do with my old tin ceiling that has holes in it and peeling paint.
