    Post sheetrock fire wall

Does anyone know how I would sheetrock my firewall. People tell me that I can't put nails through it so I am stuck. I want to do the right practice.

what exactally are you doing? hanging another layer over an existing firewall? if it is wood studs, yes of course you can nail it up. though I prefer screws simply because when you nail you need to nail in sets of two and screws you only need one per 12 inches in the center and every 6 inches along the edges. once you apply your mud all screw or nail holes will be sealed so it is of no concern

it should not matter how it is installed as long as you get the proper fire rating from it.
