    Default tile outside

I bought a house last year that has a front porch with indoor/outdoor carpet. This carpet does not do well when we get snow. It absorbs water very well, and if we to much snow or rains it absorbs right into the house. I want to rip it up and put tile. I can not find a way to put tile on wood without ripping up the plywood and put down concrete board.

Carpet, even outdoor carpet on a porch deck is a bad idea since it traps water underneath it... tile isn't much better choice, because it can be quite slippery when wet. Have you given any thoughts to using oak wood flooring painted?

Something else to consider .... during the freeze / thaw...... moisture that will get under the tiles would cause havoc with the tiles cracking and breaking.
