    Default Garden Window Leaks

The garden window in my kitchen leaks at the top whenever there is a hard rain. Have tried caulking at top of the d-log exterior. It still leaks. Any suggestions?

Without seeing the installation, it's hard to offer advice. Caulking usually will cure the problem if the joint between the window and building are leaking. Make sure you've gone around the whole joint and down a little on the sides. Water will travel horizontally too so it masks its real origin. Is there flashing above the window to deflect any water coming down the side of the building? That could compound the water flow across the joint. You might check that too. If you need to install a small flashing across that joint, make sure you caulk in a continuous bead behind the metal, where is lays against the building.

    Good Luck.

Thanks, I'll tell my handyman (husband) about your suggestions. There is no flashing at this time.
