    Default Flagstone patio

We had a flagstone patio put in 2 years ago and the landscaper assured me that the rain would drain towards the grassy area. That was not the case. The water when it rains puddles at the place where the original patio butts up against the flagstone. We get a nice little puddle that needs to be swept off after any rain. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? Is there a way to place a drain in the lowest spot? Help I am getting tired of the problem.
    Sincerely
    William

It depends on how sick of sweeping you are...

You can use a concrete blade and power saw to cut a slot across the joint, about 1" wide and install a small plastic grate across the whole joint. You should be able to find them at a pool supply store as they install them around pools so that the water doesn't wash away when splashed out of the pool.

At the end of the grate, it'll just drain into the grass. That way, all the water will drain into the grate and your problem should be solved.

    Good Luck.
