Default Asbestos in plaster? Any thoughts

So, I have started to rip apart the only bathroom in my house for a rehab. Then I looked ****** and discovered that asbestos is commonly found in plaster walls (which is what we have).

So: I'm wondering how to go about testing to determine if it is present. I can't seem to find the answer.

    What's your thoughts?

If you get it tested and it contains asbestos, then you're going to open a can of worms you don't want - you'll have to hire a contractor that is certified for removing hazardous materials and then they'll make it into a project that will put the 3-Mile Island clean up to shame. Plus the waste must be disposed of in a certified managed landfill.
