    Default hanging porch swing

We recently purchased a used wooden porch swing and would like to attach it to our porch. The underside of the roof is vinyl sided. Is there anyway to do this without damaging the vinyl?

You'll need to locate the framing members to install the hangers for the swing. Not knowing what is under the vinyl, this may or may not be an easy task. First, you can try a stud finder, though I suspect that it won't have the penetrative power to "see" past the vinyl, foam insulation, and porch ceiling surface. The only other method would be to remove a portion of the vinyl to locate the structural members of the ceiling. Once you've done that and measured their exact location, you can reinstall the vinyl, measure and mark your points then install the hangers.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!
