Dutch Colonial renovation series
Okay, just saw the last episode of this series and it was a lot of good work by all, but I was left disappointed. What is up with the gap in the crown molding in all the rooms? Most of us put the molding all the way up to the top of the ceiling, but why would these guys leave what looks like a 1/4-1/2 inch gap around the ceiling in every room. It looks like crap! Especially, the parts that are uneven. I realize there may be imperfections the the ceiling levelness, but it wouldn't be noticable if the molding was placed up against the ceiling.
Has anyone seen this house and would be able to convince me this is the best way to finish up a room/job?
