Question Can you paint/glaze shower tile?

I have a houe I am renovating. It is a rental house so I don't want to put a lot of money in it. The showers are in decent shape but the tile is out dated. I heard you can glaze the tile with something to change the color and look. Does anyone know what product and how to do it.

    Jg,

There are Do-It-Yourself kits avaliable at Home Depot which are designed for recoating showers and tubs. They are basically 2 part epoxy type paints. Only an epoxy type paint will hold up to the heat and water encountered in a shower environment.

You might consider having one of the tub/shower refinishing outfits paint your shower. They will spray the tile and leave you with a professioanl looking finish. As with all painting, preparation is the difference between a schlock outcome and something really professional looking.
