I have an old dresser of my grandmother's. It has an old, musty smell to it that I just can't remove. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell?
Re: smelly dresser
On a nice sunny day, take it outside and use a good bleach solution to wipe it out thoroughly (wood should be damp but not wet). Then, with drawers out and everything as open as possible, sit it out in the sun for several hours, making sure all sides get a good amount of exposure. I did this several years ago to a very smelly dresser and it has never smelled musty or mildewy again!
