    Default insulating 2-by-3 attic

We removed the blown-in insulation from our attic (it was never covered and filled with dirt, debris, and fiberglass particles) and want to replace it with the bat kind. But everything we've seen is too thick for our 2-by-3 construction. Do they make anything for 2-by-3s? Also, any idea how to save money. I know we can get a tax credit, but the cost to do even our tiny attic is exhorbitant. Thanks.

Could you elaborate more on your description of 2x3 construction?
