    Unhappy Dryer Venting Where?

    Hi
    As dumb as this sounds, I have been in this house 4 years and the wife just tells me she thinks something is wrong with the dryer! I check the dryer vent on the side of the house (two stories) and note the one way flap is not open with the dryer on! I find it stuccoed shut! I clean around the flap to allow airflow. There is none with the dryer on! Where is this thing venting? How do I find the break and do I have to start tearing up the walls in order to make repairs? Who in the trades handles this problem? Thanks..

    It's possible the ducting is connected but since the exterior vent was blocked shut for so long .... your ducting may be simply plugged inside.

    If you have a plumbing snake this may help running it through the ducting to see if it is plugged and to see if it reaches the outside vent.

    Just a thought.

    Thumbs up Re: Dryer Venting Where?

    Thank you Great White;
    I have a crew coming Friday; It was suggested I take my shop vac blower motor rated at 200 mph and put that to the hole. I thought not.. might bring me more grief than I currently have..

    Thanks again..

    Will post on the outcome..
