    Default sediment filter

10 years later I still have to change my whole house sediment filter every 3 weeks. Normal? Suggested cures? Thanks

    Private well or city water?

What type of sediment are you filtering for?

    Iron particles, sand, ???

They are large (big as a water softener) self-flushing (back-washing) sand-filters available which may do the trick. (We have one here for ferric iron particles. Does a super job.) It depends. Ph of water is also critical to proper self-cleaning of these filters as is water pressure and flow rates.

There are large cyclonic filters for sand which also self-flush.

If you're on a well it may be that your pump is to close to the bottom of the well.
