    Question Garage leaning

    Hi,
I have a home built in 1934. The garage is leaning slightly. The home inspector said it was possibly the bottom 2x4 rotted (I can't see because the floor was poured around the base) and the left side dropped. I think it is just leaning from lack of bracing. Anyone have experience to bring this back upright and repair?

    I'm with the inspector.
If the bottom 2x4 plate isn't already rotted it will be in short order.
Pouring the concrete over top is going to rot them out, guaranteed.
Then it will drop on one side then another and so on, causing the racking you see.

OK...Thanks. I guess I would need to break the cement around the studs and try to jack up the side and install new sill? Anyone with any experience on this?

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same strategy. I will first break away the concrete and I will cross brace the opening. I will try to jack the outside and rebuild the inside.
