    Default Re-grading planting beds

    Hi,

I am currently re-grading the beds in my front yard. Currently the rainwater runs towards the house. I've removed all of the landscape stone and the few dead bushes. My question is what should I buy to do the re-grading with? Topsoil? Just regular fill? Once I re-grade should I put a layer of topsil if I use regular fill? Should I mix some fertalizer into the soil so my bushes, plants and flowers will flourish when I'm done? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Mike

Your best bet would be to put a french drain next to the house be fore you fill. Fill of any kind is not compacted like settled earth so it is pourous. What you use will depend on the depth you are filling.
