Default Can a ceiling fan be installed if there is no existing light fixture?

Is it possible to install a ceiling fan if there is no existing light fixture, and not have any cords showing? There is a small smoke detector on the ceiling but nothing else. This would be in a condo with a slab ceiling, so I don't think a fan box could be installed. I'm wondering what my options would be.

Does anyone have any creative ideas?!

    Thanks

We just installed 56 fans in a condo/hotel with concrete ceilings. We used surface mount Walker/Wiremold products for the electrical.

Yep, I've installed ceiling fans with Wiremold products as well. As long as you use good anchors into the concrete, you're good to go. This is about the only way to do it if the ceiling is concrete.
