Question storing pine cabinets in unheated garage

I recently purchased pine kitchen cabinets (painted white) that were torn out of another kitchen. I do not have much storage space in my house. Is there a safe way to store them in my unheated, dirt floor garage that tends to attract little critters such as field mice?

Stack them on some wood pallets so they are up off the dirt floor. You want air circulating under and around them.
That should be OK for a short-term stay in your garage.
