I'm looking at installing more hardwood flooring (engineered or prefinished hardwood) in my home. Most manufacturers list the length of their flooring from as short as 9" or 12" up to 7 feet long and more. My problem is, I don't want to install any pieces shorter than about 24", because I think those short little lengths look just awful.

If any hardwood flooring installers are reading this, what are you generally seeing as the percentage of short (< 24") lengths you are getting in a carton these days? (In other words, what percentage am I going to have to throw away).
