    Default shower valve

I have a leaky faucet in the shower,I replaced the cold water valve, and need to replace the hot water valve. I am using a shower valve socket wrench and the valve is on so tight I have stripped three sockets.I have turned the water off over night, hoping that might help and put some penetrating oil on it to try and loosen it up, nothing is working.

I can't figure out why you are only replacing one of the valves at a time. If it tiled in front, see if you can go to the back side and open up the drywall to get to the entire valve assembly. Replace the entire thing. It sounds like you are nickel/dime-ing your self and loosing dollars while not reqally fixing anything.
    Process of elimination. Good luck.
