    Smile Open space

Remodeling old basement. HAve 4 different openings in walls, with 2 x 4 framed completed. Size of openings 47inches wide, 14 inches deep and 16 inches high. How can I make use of this space. What type of wood is best used in this area, to put TV, DVD etc. Thanks

Will the wood you want to use come in contact with concrete? If it does you will need to use pressure treated wood which you can cover or cap with some other wood. There are veneered plywoods available that are quite easy to work with. You can get birch, oak, poplar, etc. Go and look around and find what you think looks good.

Thanks TB, Just one question on these plywoods, do you have to stain them or are they already to just be put up?

The veneer is raw wood and would have to be sanded lightly, stained if desired, and finished.

Sounds like perfect places to store wine.
