Default Installing wooden shutters on 1880 brick federal

I feel like a virtual babe in the woods here!! Husband and I are considering the purchase of an 1880 brick Federal style house. The house has 23 windows, and we would like to install wooden ( decorative) shutters. Does anyone have any idea as to a "ball park" figure, dollar wise to accomplish this? The house is in a Historic district so the shutters have to be wood. The location of the house in E.PA.
    Many thanks!!

I have made my own in the past. But I would say $300-$500 per opening would be in the ballpark for custom shutters. Look into solid vinyl, they look like wood from both sides and never need paint. I think I saw them on the TOH show a while ago in Boston.

3 to 5 hundred per window sounds about right. I would check with the historic district first, some don't allow "decorative" shutters they require real working shutters.
