    Default Flooring question

We're redoing the floors in our old house (built in 1927)with snap together laminate. The original flooring is running parallel with the shortest wall of the room. We were told to run the new flooring parallel with the longest wall of the room. Which way is the correct way?

Laminate flooring is normally run parallel to the longest wall. It can be run either direction, but it just tends to look better this way.
