    Question How old is old?

What is the age requirement for a house to be considered "old" enough to be on This Old House?

I'm not sure age is a real factor, it seems it is more about the scale of the work to be done. If I remember correctly they did a ranch style house form the 70's.

Ya reckon a manufactured log home from the late 70's would qualify? I don't think they have ever done a project like that.

Not sure, but the "new" house on the family farm back in northern Sweden is over 300 years old!

I think that architectural significance plays a big part in what is chosen. If there's a good life story behind the house, that helps. Also, they seem to like to show off as many trades as possible, and demonstrate a lot of new/different materials and techniques.
