    Default Removing adhesive from drywall?

I am in the process of remodeling my kitchen and I am having an issue with the walls. The kitchen walls had formica/laminate panels glued to all of the walls. I was able to remove the panels easily, but a tan residue - adhesive is left. I tried scraping, but it seems to do little good.

Any tips for removing adhesive from drywall. I'd like to try and avoid having to rehang the drywall. We plan to paint so tiling or other types of wall coverings wont work.

    Thanks in advance.

adhesives are ususally pretty difficult to remove off drywall with out doing severe damage to the drywall. I would just try to sc**** off the bulk then skim over the remainder with some premix mud then sand smooth

I just went though this with wood paneling. I removed the glue with a heat gun and sharp putty knife. Any portion of the wall were the paper came off I filled with joint compound and sanded smooth. Not fu n but it worked...
