Default No water from hot side...water from cold side

Yesterday morning I went to turn on the hot water and had nothing. No water at all. I thought that maybe my pipes had frozen overnight, but I had cold water from the cold tap. Then when I turned open the hot water taps in the house and turned one of the cold taps on, I had cold water coming out of the hot water side. Confused!!! I'm wondering if it's not a frozen pipe, but my WH? It is only 7 months old though.

You probably have a frozen line. Opening the cold with the hot spigots open you are probably feeding cold water through the mixing valve and into the hot pipes.

Thanks for your time and effort, Jack. I appreciate it. I have since determined and pinpointed where I did have a frozen line and caught it just in time to stop any costly damage. I'm back to living life with hot water again! Thanks for your help!
