    Default Glass Stuck To Table

I have two cedar nightstands that have a glass top stuck to them. How do I get them off with out destroying the wood?

Use a thin flexible putty knife and tap it in between the glass and the table. After you work all the way around the glass if it won't pop loose , make a garrote out of a couple of pieces of dowel and thin guitar string and try to work that down between the glass and the table top.

How about using a hammer and then picking up the pieces of glass?

Jack , how dare you advocate the illegal manufacture and possesion of such a dangerous thing ? Those are just the kinds of things that the "Woodworking Police " look for during their inspections . If you have any of your own ,throw them away now ,before the knock comes on your door .

I didn't suggest keeping it to use on unruly neighbors.

    Well, I dunno...
These days you can't blow up your own stumps, take shaving lotion on an airplane, or get caught in class with fingernail clippers (especially if you're in first grade!), so making a garrote would surely get the PC cops in your back yard in a hurry. Better stick with the hammer. But watch out, soon even that will be a problem.
