    By the way, another way to put the plywood between the joists if you don't want to rabbit the joists is to nail 1X1 on the sides of the joists " down from the top edge of the joists.

    One question why did they build basements under the fornt porch? I have the same problem but would like to keep the tongue and groove decking. Thanks.

    How did you end up handling this issue? I recently bought a home that has the same issue. I also literally have no door threshold so not sure I can spare moving the door up that much without hitting the header.
