    Default Staining interior rough-sawn cedar

Is it OK to use an exterior semi-transparent stain on some rough-sawn cedar that is part of a window-wall in our living room? I am mostly worried that there may be chemicals in exterior stains that could be dangerous inside. I can't seem to find any information on the labels to tell me whether they can be used on interior surfaces.

If you are just using it to stain the surface and will be covering with some sort of poly or clear coat. There may be no issue at all

typicaly exterior products are not designed for interior conditions and do have chemicals that may pose a problem.

when in doubt most paint manufactures have a help line on listed on the can and can be reached for additional information.
