    Default Condo Deck Footings

    Hello,

Two years ago our condominium put up a new three story deck on our building. Ever since we've noticed that half of the concrete footers are slowly crumbling away.

We have had the builder out to look at them but he says that nothing is wrong and refuses to fix it.

Does anyone know if this is a serious problem?

I've attached a couple pictures from my camera phone.

    Thanks for the help!

The concrete seems to look as though it may have had too much water added to the mix or poor cement mix or improper curring ( too hot or froze) during installation.

It looks as though it would be a good idea to bring in a building inspector from the municipality or call up an engineer to be able to determine what's going on onsite.

Looks kinds of like "fence post" mix, which has little to no cement in it. Ditto the building inspector.
