    Default Glue on Drywall?

After removing 6 layers of wallpapperI was saddened by finding that one wall had glue streaks running up and down, the other people had something glued on that wall. I tried to sand them off to NO avail. I tried to use a razor blade but this was removing the protecting paper on the drywall. Any suggestions other than replacing some of the drywall?

    2 suggestions.
1] Skim-coat the wall, A lot of work and patience.

2]Cover the glue with mud and feather it out just like you would a taped joint.

After doing either 1 or 2 seal the new mud with PVA primer and 2 coats of KILZ before you paper again.
