    Question bad cast iron pipes

I have a drain line from my sink that i have a dishwasher and a garbage disposal hooked to it. The line became plugged one day and I had the plumber come out and snake the line. He told me that he could only go a little ways into the cast iron pipe. Now I have a hole on the side of the clean out in the middle of it that has rusted through.Iwas wondering if maybe there is a collapsed line.I would also like to maybe replace the hole line with PVC under my basement floor and tie into the main line if this is possible.

Have you gone underneath your house an looked. There is a similiar post about cast iron pipes and it cost him $4000. Check it out. But remember: Unless you open up the walls and replace ALL THE CAST IRON, you may still have problems. Process of elimanation. Good luck.
